Delivery Answers

How can I help Verdure deliver quickly and accurately?
Good deliveries depend on accurate information: the full name, address and postcode of the recipient. Delivery instructions are helpful if the property is difficult to locate or if the recipient is at a hospital, business or university. As much information as possible e.g. departments, room numbers, ward numbers etc. really helps.

You can also ensure that the delivery address is correct by using the address and postcode look up features on our website when ordering online.

Where do you deliver to?
We deliver throughout the UK so you can send bouquets to almost any postcode in England and Wales, and most addresses in Scotland.

We are currently unable to deliver to the Channel Islands and remote parts of Scotland.

What time will the order be delivered?
Our standard delivery time is from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday.

Can I specify a delivery slot?
Yes. We have a delivery by 9am slot and another for delivery by 1pm. Additional charges apply.

Do you deliver on Sundays or Bank Holidays?
Not presently.

Do you deliver to Hospitals, Universities or Businesses?
We do, but it is essential that you provide as much information as possible. Such addresses are usually very large with many people. Building names, room numbers, ward numbers, departments etc. the more information here the better. Thank you.

Can I find out where my order is up to?
Yes, log into your account and you will be able to see what stage you order is at.

What if the recipient is not available to accept the delivery?
Because the flowers that you send may be a surprise, it is sometimes inevitable that the recipient may not be available to accept their flowers. If it has not been possible to deliver the flowers we will try to leave them securely on the property or with a neighbor. If neither of these are possible then they will be taken back to the depot. Whatever action is taken, a calling card is left to advise the recipient of the action taken and a contact and telephone number for the recipient to call to rearrange delivery or to collect themselves.

Will I receive confirmation that my order has been delivered?
Yes, we will send you e-mail delivery confirmation when your delivery has been made and also update you of anything else relevant to the delivery.

Flower Care Answers

How do I unpack my flowers?
Remove all transportation packaging, containers and materials around the stems then trim about an inch from the bottom of each stem before placing in a clean vase with fresh water and the flower food provided.

What kind of vase should I place the flowers in?
Place your flowers in a vase large enough to allow the stems to reach at least half way down and fill it three quarters full with fresh lukewarm water, adding the flower food supplied, following the instructions on the sachet. Ensure that your vase is completely clean, using hot water and a light cleaning solution, rinsing thoroughly with hot water as residue from previous displays contains bacteria that block the tiny tubules carrying water up the stems, causing flowers to wilt.

Where do I position my flowers?
For best results place flowers in light, cool positions, 18 to 22C (65 to 72F), away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, radiators and other appliances that give off heat. Also keep flowers away from draughts as they can dry the flowers out prematurely. Keep flowers away from ripening fruit as it releases tiny amounts of ethylene gas which makes flowers age faster. For the same reason remove individual flowers as they fade.

How do I look after my flowers on an ongoing basis?
Flowers enjoy being sprayed with a gentle mist of water daily. They also need to be deadheaded regularly to remove fading flowers.
Also check the water level in the vase, topping it up with fresh lukewarm water regularly. If the water looks cloudy or has developed an unpleasant smell, it should be thrown away and the vase refilled with fresh lukewarm water.
Continue to add flower food to the water because it contains essential nutrients for the flowers and agents that keep bacteria and yeasts away.

What do I do about lily pollen?
The best way to avoid lily pollen coming off the flowers and staining is to remove the stamens when the flowers open. Note: Lily pollen may stain clothing and furnishings. Use sticky tape to remove it; don't use water or try to brush it off. It can also be harmful to pets if ingested.

My flowers contains berries and/or small fruits, what special care do I need to take?
You need to ensure that these are not eaten by animals, adults or children because the may be poisonous.

Why did my payment fail?
There are many reasons why a payment can fail. The most common reasons are that the bank has declined the card, the security code is incorrect, or the card limit has been exceeded. Sometimes, a credit/debit card may work on some e-commerce websites, but not on others. Unfortunately this is outside our control.

The delivered flowers are note the same as the ones on the web I ordered?
Very occasionally we need to make last-minute changes to the flowers that we use to make up our bouquets.

We don’t like doing this, but sometimes we have to if we have received poor quality flowers being received from our growers, or the flowers were simply not available. This is outlined in our terms and conditions.

Be assured that we will always use flowers that are of a similar style and colour and of equal or greater value to your original order.

If you are not happy with the substitution that has been made, please click the 'email us' or 'call me back' link in the top-right corner of the page, complete the form and we will call or email you back within an hour during office hours.
